Summary
I am a qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA) with over 13 years post qualification experience in financial modelling –both model build and review/audit.
I have excellent Excel and visual basic programming technical knowledge alongside outstanding interpersonal skills through extensive experience of working in multi disciplinary deal teams under intense time pressure.
I am experienced with the requirements of both Sponsors and Lenders in Project Finance deals and I have a particular interest and expertise on the Sponsor side in the energy sector.
Career History
Prior to founding Director of FinancialModelling.com Ltd I worked for the UK arm of US Electric Utility Entergy - responsible for the evaluation of new power station development and acquisitions in the UK and Europe.
Before that, I worked as a manager within Ernst & Young’s financial modelling group - primarily building models for sponsors in the power and energy sectors and reviewing the models used in project finance transactions.
Recent Projects
Recently, I have been involved in:
- developing a financial model to evaluate whether or not a STOR contract should be entered into by a UK gas power plant;
- developing financial models to value portfolios of existing and new solar PV and Wind projects in Europe;
- developing a financial model used to value existing power stations in the UK (Coal and gas CHP);
- developing the financial model to be submitted as part of the tender to build own and operate (BOO) a 2000MW power and water desalination plant in the Middle East
- developing a model used to bid for multiple PPP contracts in the UK Healthcare sector; and
- developing a management forecasting/ budgeting model for a property company to replace their existing “nightmare” model.
